On the 6th February, the International Zero Tolerance to FGM day, we were delighted to announce that our FGM awareness film Everybody’s Business has reached the finals of the Charity Film Awards!

Winning would be a huge honour, as it recognises all the hard work and commitment that our young people have put into the charity.

Please vote for us here: www.charityfilmawards.com

About the film

The film itself is a one shot video – anybody that knows about film production will know that it is incredibly hard to do! Everybody’s Business details a young girl walking down the street, apparently oblivious to the serious crimes going on around her. The message of the film is a powerful but simple one, highlighting how blind our society is in identifying and preventing certain types of abuse; FGM is thought of as ‘other’, it doesn’t affect us so it’s not our business.

Integrate UK is a youth led charity that encourages young people to play an active role in positively transforming the society they live in. We encourage our young people to raise awareness of challenging issues, such as FGM through creative projects such as video, stage drama and music.

Alongside this, our young people provide peer education in schools and training for front line professionals nationally, reaching over 6,000 people in the last year. They tackle issues such as FGM, gang culture, child sexual exploitation (CSE), radicalisation, honour crime and right wing extremism.

We couldn’t be prouder of what our young people have achieved in their community so far. We believe that they deserve to be recognised for all their dedication.

With your help we can win!

But our support alone is not enough. We need your help to win! Follow the link to vote: www.charityfilmawards.com

As we were nominated for this award long before we went national, you will need to search for Integrate Bristol under the ‘participating charities’ tab. Alternatively you can also find us on the ‘finalists’ tab, under the ‘£10,001 – £100,000’ category.

We need as many people as possible to vote for us in order for us to win, so please spread the word on social media.

Voting closes on 10th March, so make sure you vote before this date!
